  • Whether you're after a stocking filler or the perfect gift for the art lover in your life, Christmas can be a tall order when it comes to finding something special. Luckily, here at Helm we have plenty of amazing pieces to suit every budget.
We've put a list together of 10 of our personal highlights, as well as catching up with some of the gallery team to find out what would make their ideal Christmas gift. Be it books or sculptures, original works or editions, you're sure to find something unique in time for the festive season.

    1.) Will Blood – Tri Berry 'Rib-Pop'

The ideal gift for Will Blood fans. His 'Rib-Pops' have long been among his most popular work with each colour variation selling out before many have a chance to grab one. These tricolour editions represent some of his most desirable and affordable works yet, hand cast using resin on to laser-etched birch lolly sticks, they're the perfect example of a simplistic, perfectly executed sculpture.

    2.) Ever Grainger – Snot Drop - £300

“Ever Grainger was an artist that just filled me with excitement when I first saw her work in person. I love this piece in particular, the tactile feel and how it looks like it's still in motion – it has such an undeniably unique feel, it's such a great example of an original work of art at this size and price. Perfect for Christmas.” - Eden - Co-founder

3.) Piers Henry – Lucid Mirror

Hand-polished and expertly crafted to play on light for an ethereal, otherworldly feel, Piers Henry's Lucid Mirror series is fast becoming some of his most sought after work. These unique, original works come in an array of sizes with one to suit every budget, the metallic, silver effect gives off a surreal, almost liquid look – an absolute showstopper of a Christmas present.

4.) Philip Colbert – Lobstars Collectable 02 - Spam Can

“The perfect Christmas gift if you have an art lover in your life, for me, would be Philip Colbert’s “Lobstars - Spam”. I mean what a present?! This sculpture is just stunning, I love everything about it. The colours are so vibrant and the artists attention to detail is incredible. Now I must admit, I’ve never tried spam but I do feel like I’m right in thinking that it would be a love it or a hate it situation, like marmite (which I happen to love). Well I’m sure there will be no haters here! It comes in the perfect sized box to fit underneath the tree - oh and the box it comes in is incredible in itself, as I said, his attention to detail is impeccable - and we all love an easy to wrap gift don’t we! Also if you have a loved one who always says they have no wall space left, look no further, no wall required with this present!”  Katherine - Art Advisor

5.) Idles x Magda Archer - Brutalism: Illustrated Lyrics

“For me, it has to be the Idles and Magda Archer book. It's such an incredible collaboration – Magda's artwork contrasts the bands lyrics in such a striking way, such an unexpected project but it works so well, it's the perfect combination of two brilliant creatives work in one publication. The book isn't released until February so we're the only place you can get it for Christmas! I couldn't pick anything else...”  Will - Gallery Manager

6.) Veera Sorri – Broke and Lonely

Up and coming Finnish artist Veera Sorri has quickly made a name for herself online for her fresh perspective on typographical and figurative original works of art. Her excellent technique and attention to detail helps her convey a confident, undeniable femininity in a vibrant and accessible way. Her cult-following and stylised approach makes her work an excellent gift for any aspiring collector.

7.) Magda Archer – Poor Thing

A perfect example of Magda's work from the 2000's, Poor Thing features a solitary robin, resting on a snow-covered branch – a classic winter scene contrasted with Magda's typically dry sense of humour. A beautifully painted work on canvas, Poor Thing is an opportunity to gift an original work of art by one of the most exciting contemporary artists showing at Helm.

8.) David Gibson – The Street Photographers Manual

“Since I got my camera at the start of the year, I have been gravitating towards street photography and enjoying capturing people in a natural, authentic way. I have just been winging it myself but would like to learn a little more about lighting, composition and just look for inspiration in general. So would LOVE this as a gift (this is me hinting to my loved ones).”  Ashleigh - Marketing Manager

    9.) Poppy Faun – Wanted

Brighton native Poppy Faun has long had an established career creating beautiful, mid-century inspired works conveying feelings of lust, love and optimism that has seen her become widely collected and celebrated on a national scale. Wanted, a work new to 2023 marks a step away from her trademark style towards a more painterly, humorous way of conveying their feelings. The work is simple, beautifully textured and represents one of her finest pieces to date. The perfect gift for the fashion-lover in your life.

10.) Andy Doig – I Hope We Fall In Love

“This Christmas, I want a warm pink glow...If I could have any one piece from Helm, it would have to be I Hope We Fall In Love. Now, I recognise the price point wouldn't work for Secret Santa, and it wouldn't fit into a stocking - but I would happily forgo all other presents for the foreseeable future to have this one. I love the hands-on expertise that goes into making a piece like this in neon, the character in the handwriting and the bubblegum pink colour – gorgeous.” India -Artist Liaison
