Join us at Helm for a unique art workshop where you’ll learn to capture the beauty of movement using charcoal. Led by renowned sketch artist Michael Munday, this session will focus on translating the dynamic motion of live performances into expressive drawings.
No previous experience is necessary as you’ll be guided through techniques that emphasize fluidity and energy, perfect for all skill levels. The workshop will feature two live dancers from Ceyda Tanc Dance, a contemporary company known for blending traditional Turkish folk dance with powerful, modern choreography. As they dance, you'll have the opportunity to sketch their hypnotic movements, using charcoal, pencils and paper which are all provided.

Helm is easily accessible by public transport as we are located in Brighton city centre. There is a bus stop right opposite the gallery on North Road and the train station is less than 10 minutes walk away. If you are driving to the workshop, there are a number of public car parks close by.
