James Cauty is an English musician and artist best known as a founding member of The KLF and The Orb.
He is defined by his consistently unique and boundary-pushing approach to his creative endeavors, as an artist his practice has covered prints, sculpture and installations often centred around political commentary, authoritarianism and modern life at large. In 2011 Cauty held an exhibition titled ‘Riot in a jam jar’ consisting of scale dioramas depicting violent confrontations between British rioters and police each held in an inverted jam jar.
Cauty’s uniquely unorthodox work in both music and art has continued to prove influential, developing a significant, international cult following over the years.
