Banksy is an English contemporary artist whose identity remains shrouded in mystery.

Active since the 1990s, his work grew out of the Bristol underground scene. His satirical street art combining dark humour and graffiti executed in a distinctive stencilling technique. 

Banksy's practice has made an indelible mark on the art world, his work often causing nationwide headlines when a new piece appears. His prints and originals have an incredibly active secondary market, often selling at auction for record sums.
