About the artist

Dan Hillier

Dan Hillier was an English contemporary artist that specialised in repurposing Victorian-era imagery into beautiful and unsettling works of art.

Dan started his career selling prints from a market stall and quickly gained the recognition of gallerists and collectors nationwide. Through merging human, animal, and arcane elements his art reflected his deep connection to the natural world and his rich spiritual life, which he described as “an expression of love for nature, archetypes, relationships, and the ever-unfolding nature of being alive in this unknowable mystery.”

His collaborations spanned Shakespeare’s Globe, rock bands Royal Blood and Architects, the Folio Society, Harper Collins, and the National Theatre. Dan's distinctive art graced the opening titles of the BBC drama series Requiem.
