Damien Hirst’s 2021 series, H-9 Virtues, followed his 2018-2020 Cherry Blossoms, a series of monumental canvas paintings inspired by the pointillism of Georges Seurat, and the view from his childhood bedroom.
Created here in vivid colour on aluminium in extraordinary resolution, The Virtues proved to be one of his most sought after collections. Upon release, there was a one-week application period for collectors, after which the edition closed.
Originally on sale for £3,000, these now habitually sell for upwards of £20,000-24,000.

About the artist
Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst is an English contemporary artist. One of the YBAs that took the art world by storm in the 1990's, he is arguably the most successful British artist of the last 30 years.
Described initially as the enfant terrible of the art world, his controversy has been his strength, with each new phase of his work being highly collected and instantly recognisable he's defined the course of modern art and shaped attitudes towards it for decades.
The theme of death is the most all-encompassing aspect of his work. Animals bisected and trapped in formaldehyde, skulls adorned with millions of pounds worth of jewels, complex arrangements of pharmaceutical paraphernalia and multitudes of carefully arranged spots and butterflies make up a snapshot of his iconic catalogue of work.
Known also for his relationship with collector Charles Saatchi, his work with the YBAs firmly etched his presence into art-history and made him one of the most collected and investable artists in of all time.
