As we ready ourselves to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Helm’s opening, we couldn’t be more proud to announce our upcoming exhibition; Work In Progress.
The culmination of a year’s exhibitions, events and experiences; Work In Progress will honour the artists’ whose creativity adorns the gallery’s walls and makes Helm the vibrant, contemporary space that it is.
Between 6th-8th September, Helm will be transformed into a blank canvas once again, as we invite our artists to create brand-new works of art, live, whilst open to the public.
All too often, artwork is experienced without connection to the artist themselves; separate to the process. This exciting and dynamic exhibition will engage visitors with the creative process of each artist as an individual, giving insight to their techniques, materials and space.
We will transport you to the studios of 9 contemporary artists from around the world, all under one roof, working across a variety of mediums and styles. Each with their own space in the gallery to work from, this is your chance to meet those at the cutting edge of contemporary art and see first hand their artwork coming to life.
True to Helm’s commitment to reimagine and demystify the art gallery experience, Work In Progress represents our desire to share space, platform artists and offer amazing experiences.
The Work In Progress opening party is open to all, and will take place on Friday 6th September - 7pm - 10pm. If you would like to attend, send us an email at info@helm-gallery.com.
The gallery will be open on Saturday 7th September 10am - 10pm & Sunday 8th September 10am - 5pm for the public to continue watching the artworks being painted live.
Live painting will finish on Sunday 8th September at 5pm.
All artwork will remain on show at Helm until 29th September 2024, along with a collection of existing pieces from each artist.
