Jacqueline Freeman is an artist based near Brighton, who, after spending 20 years working as a specialist nurse practitioner, decided to pursue art.

"This artwork is about the connection between mothers and daughters, and specifically about holding on and letting go of a lifetime of being united together, bonded by love. The sickbed scene reminds the viewer we are all united by certainty of death."
